Z&S Foundation lifts the spirit of indigents on Salah day

The joy of indigents, widows, orphans and prison inmates in Osun State knew no bounds during the just concluded Eid el Adha as they handsomely partook in the Sallah meat and cash distributed to them by the Zakat and Sadaqat Foundation.

Aside from the inmates who had theirs within the precincts of Ile-Ife prison, beneficiaries were seen, coasting home delightedly with sizeable packs of meat and cash in major cities and towns like Osogbo, Ede, Iwo, Ikirun, Obaagun, Ifon, Ife, Ilesa among others. Reports had it that similar programmes were held simultaneously in other states like Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Kwara and Edo.

The ZSF Administrative Officer, Mallam Moshood Olaoye said the programme was designed to put joy in the hearts and smiles on the faces of the beneficiaries on the occasion of eid-l-Adha.

He appreciated the benefactors of the Foundation for their unflinching moral and financial support which has enabled ZSF to touch peoples lives. He beseeched Allah to bless what they donated and what remained with them and reward them with paradise.

One of the beneficiaries who spoke to newsmen, Mr Nurudeen Omidiran thanked the Foundation for the gesture and prayed that Allah rewards the benefactors abundantly.

Omidiran who could not hide his joy explained that he walked to Osun State Office of the Foundation on the eve of Eid hopelessly, but got a relief with the cash and meat presented to his family by the Foundation.

A widow in Obaagun town, Mrs Rizqat Omotunde who could also not hide her joy urged other organisations to emulate the ZSF. “If we could have about ten similar organisations like this reputable Zakat and Sadaqat Foundation, poverty will be banished from our land in no distant time. May Allah continue to bless them to do more,” she prayed.

The ZSF Coordinator for Osun State, Mallam Iyiola Mikhail Oyedeji, urged wealthy individuals, corporate organisations and philanthropists to partner with the Zakat and Sadaqat Foundation on its various humanitarian services. Oyedeji said such humanitarian services being rendered include empowerment programme, widows and orphans support, senior citizens’ support,  free medical support,  free water projects, IDP support, and Prison Inmates support.

Others are People Living with Disabilities Support, Iftar Saim, Eid Meat Distribution, to mention a few by paying their Zakat and Sadaqat or by donating goods and materials in terms of foodstuffs to the charitable organisation.
